Between 1982 and 2015 he was the founder, artistic director and violinist, of the COMBATTIMENTO CONSORT AMSTERDAM, the ensemble renowned internationally, through its series at the CONCERTGEBOUW AMSTERDAM, for its performances of many of the little-known masterpieces of the 17th and 18th century and its presentation of operas by Monteverdi, Handel, Telemann, Bach, Gassmann and Mozart among others and directed by the acclaimed Eva Buchmann. The ensemble toured Europe and North America and recorded an extensive catalogue of recordings for commercial DVD and television.

Again with HET SYMFONIE ORKEST he completed a very successful series of recordings, of all the Beethoven and Mendelssohn symphonies.
Other recordings include Mendelssohn’s 3rd and 4th symphonies for a hybrid “pop/classical video clip” for dvd with the Belgian director, Peter Pannekoek.

His opera conducting has included, during 2013 and 2014 the HET SYMFONIE ORKEST’s supporting of DON GIOVANNI and Rossini’s LA GAZETTA, in productions directed by Eva Buchmann, on tour in St. Moritz and Basel and on tour throughout The Netherlands.
Also with Eva Buchmann’s performance company, PUNTO ARTE, during the 2017/2018 season, he has conducted seasons of Haydn’s LO SPEZIALE and Mozart’s DER SCHAUSPIELDIREKTOR at the COLOGNE PHILHARMONIE with the COLOGNE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA and at the ZURICH TONHALLE with the ZURICH TONHALLE ORCHESTER. 2019/2020 will include further performances with the ORCHESTER DES HESSISCHEN RUNDFUNKS in Frankfurt.
