Czech baritone, Michal Marhold has, from 2017 to 2019, been a contracted principal artist at the KONZERT THEATER BERN, appearing in such roles as Guglielmo in COSI FAN TUTTE, Schaunard in LA BOHEME, Juri in HUMANOID and Der Graf in Philipe Boesman’s REIGEN.
His engagements during the early part of the 2019-2020 Season saw him appear as Figaro in THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO at the DIVADLO NA ORLI in Brno, as Silvano in UN BALLO IN MASCHERA for the NATIONAL MORAVIAN-SILESIAN THEATRE and the Gran Sacerdote in NABUCCO for the SOUTH BOHEMIAN THEATRE.
His forthcoming engagements, in the 2020-2021 Season include Harasta in THE CUNNING LITTLE VIXEN for VOLKSTHEATER ROSTOCK, Papageno in THE MAGIC FLUTE for OPERA ODESSA, the title role of DON GIOVANNI, also performances of both the Count and Figaro in THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO for the ROMANIAN NATIONAL OPERA and Marullo in RIGOLETTO at the SILESIAN THEATRE in the Czech Republic.
His 2020-2021 Season plans also include the world premiere of the opera HIBIKI at the NATIONAL THEATRE MORAVIAN-SILESIAN.
Michal Marhold‘s other previous performing experience includes Juri in HUMANOID for THEATER WINTERTHUR, Masetto in DON GIOVANNI, the role of the Marchese Forlimpopolo in Martinů’s MIRANDOLINA and the title role of Cimarosa’s L’IMPRESARIO IN AUGUSTIE, Die König in Orff’s DIE KLUGE and Vincent in Flotow’s DIE WITWE GRAPIN, all for DIVADLO NA ORLI in Brno, Leporello in DON GIOVANNI, Don Alfonso in COSI FAN TUTTE and Micha in THE BARTERED BRIDE all for the EUROPEAN MUSIC ACADEMY in Prague.
