Celeste Haworth was the 2015 winner of the prestigious GERMAN AUSTRALIA OPERA GRANT and is currently based in Germany, singing an extensive range of roles at the HESSISCHES STAATSTHEATER in Wiesbaden.
She is a graduate of the SYDNEY CONSERVATORIUM OF MUSIC and of the KONSERVATORIUM WIEN.
Prior to taking up her current contract in Wiesbaden she appeared in the role of Schlange in Wolfgang Liebhardt’s EDENARABESKE and as Maria in Dirk D’Ase’ AZRAEL, both roles for the VIENNA MODERN ANNUAL FESTIVAL and as Marcellina in THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO for the LYRISCHE OPER STUDIO in Weimar.
In Wiesbaden, her roles in the 2015/2016 and the current 2016/2017 seasons, at the HESSISCHES STAATSTHEATER have included the Inn Keeper in BORIS GODUNOV, Charlotte in Zimmerman’s DIE SOLDATEN, Meg Page in FALSTAFF, the Third Maiden in ELEKTRA, Kate Pinkerton in MADAM BUTTERFLY, Emelia in OTELLO and Marcellina in THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO.
Other operatic roles include the title role in Handel’s TAMERLANO and Bertarido in RODELINDA, both for EARLY MUSIC ENSEMBLE in Sydney.
On the concert platform, Celeste Haworth’s appearances include being soloist in Christmas concerts with the DEUTSCHES KAMMER ORCHESTERIN, regular concerts from 2012 to 2015 as Resident Soloist for the WIEN RESIDENZ ORCHESTER, Messiah at Sydney’s CITY RECITAL HALL, and the Bruckner MASS NO.3 with the SINGAPORE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.
